New life for old photos

New life for old photos
Category: Bethlehem, Photography

Yet another reason why I NEVER ever ever ever ever delete any photos I take regardless of how bad they are (except for the ones of a certain person who would kill me if I didn’t delete them). Two years ago I shot this HDR panorama of Lehigh University. I attempted to stitch it using photoshop – no dice… between the uneven lines and  mismatched paving stones the resulting image looked rather  M.C Escher.

Enter PTGUI (http://www.ptgui.com/). Not only did this software detect what lens I was using… it also cleaned up the nasty little chromatic aberrations which are common when shooting larger panoramas.

My point is… even images which may seem useless now? may have new life a year from now when the software catches up.
